17-year-old Lake Placid native Tate Frantz, following his Qualification Round jump Friday night in his first career FIS Ski Jumping World Cup:
"Not too bad. Not my best jump, but I’m definitely super satisfied with it, dealing with those swirling conditions. All in all, I think I did a good job just staying calm at the top when we had the delays and everything so I’m pretty satisfied with how it turned out."
Conditions: "Drifting winds from the back, from the side, from the front – kind of out of our control so at that point it’s just important to try to relax as much as you can and try to just have the jump that you know you can have and be confident and safe out there in the air."
"Definitely some nerves up there at the top because I want to make a good impression and everything. Regardless of how it ended up, I’m just glad to be out here. It was fun to be out here with all the guys. It’s been a good week so far and I’m ready for the rest of the weekend."
